Southern Rail Commuters Face Further Disruption – Try Working from Home

Forest Hill Sink HoleJust when commuters in the south thought that the challenges of travelling into London could not get any worse, they faced further disruption this morning as Southern Rail discovered a second sink hole has opened up in Forest Hill, just weeks after a collapsed sewer under tracks caused days of delays.

Emergency engineering repairs meant that there were no trains between East Croydon and London Bridge this morning and delays are expected until 6pm this evening. Commuters were forced to switch trains at East Croydon and travel to their destinations via Victoria and the underground.

This is in the same week that Southern have given warning of 5 days of strike action 8th-12th August and Jeremy Corby has been calling on the government to renationalise the Southern rail services, claiming Southern are not fulfilling its obligations under the franchise it was given.

All of this is on the back of Southern passengers having faced delays, cancellations and a reduced timetable amid staff shortages and strikes for many months now.

There is an answer to all this…

If you are one of these long suffering commuters and are looking for some relief from this commuting misery, help is at hand from Opus.

We have the technology and skills to enable people to work from home with the same communications and IT experience that they would expect if they were in the office. Communicate and collaborate as effectively from home or anywhere you choose, as you would in the office.

Typically the monthly cost for the home working service would cost less than a daily train fare into London and if you added the cost of for example 2 hours lost working time into the mix, you would be saving your business money. Not to mention the priceless value of being at home for bedtime with the children.
